I am a forty-something Mom to 2, and Nana to 1. I have a terrible addiction to diet coke, and will wrestle you for the last one! When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my Kids, my Doodlebug, and the Love of My Life. Any spare time is spent CRAFTING, but I am easily distracted!
Why the name The Veranda at Falling Rock??? Well, I bought my house 4 years ago. I was a realtor at the time, and a couple I was working with wanted to look at this house. So, I showed it to them. They did not care much for the house. It was not enough of a "fixer-upper", which is what they were looking for at the time.
Lucky for me they didn't care for it, because I loved it. The next evening I brought my best friend, AKA Honeylove (don't judge!), and she loved it as much as I did. What sold both of us on this house was the front porch. It's rather large. We affectionately started calling it "The Veranda."
Now for the 2nd half of the name. My best friend's husband and his best friend enjoy an annual "Man Trip." While on their man trip several years ago, they stopped at a bar called Falling Rock. It had a stone facade, much like my house. The boys, as we call these 40-some year old men, refer to my house as Falling Rock. Combine the 2 nicknames, and we have The Veranda at Falling Rock!
